Links directory is fixed.

March 26, 2012 in Site News

The total site reset hasn’t happened, and that’s because it might not have to. I’ve updated the site to correct the “links” directory issues we’ve been having for a while. Changing the category filter and searching/paging through the links directory should now work just fine. I’ll be making updates to make navigating “my courses” more straightforward, as well as unifying the list of resources that you have access to download.

Site reset happening soon

February 13, 2012 in Uncategorized

In the next week or so, we’ll be resetting the site and re-importing forum posts, activity updates, links and achievements. The import run a while back seems to have left things in a funky state, so we’re going to freshen things up around here. :)

State of the Code – Another Update

October 12, 2011 in Uncategorized

So the RSS feed and the forum permissions should be all fixed up now. We’re still looking into the e-mails – you should be getting e-mails for group activities if you’ve subscribed to those activities for that group, and e-mails from forum posts that you have subscribed to. Groups (social activity) and forums (topic-based conversation) are handled separately.

Course Recordings

October 10, 2011 in Site News

We are aware of and currently working with Adobe regarding the course recording availability.  We will post an update when everything is back to normal.  Thanks!

Updates to code

September 20, 2011 in Site News

The code for the site has been updated to fix achievements as well as other browsing and AJAX issues. Orlando students will be moved to the UI/UX group soon – just a bit more testing to go.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Beta 2.0

September 13, 2011 in Site News

We’ve made a lot of changes, most of them internal, to the alumni portal. You will find bugs – we’re living on the bleeding edge of some unreleased software!

If you find them, please report them in the Bug Report forum and let us know so we can squash those bugs!

Things are lookin’ a little different around here…

September 13, 2011 in Site News

We have just pushed out some updates and feature enhancements to the my.sharepointexperience.com site.  Here is what you need to check out:

Groups

Before you were a part of a group(s), for example a group for the Branding class or a group for the students who attended the UI/UX class in June (Vegas).  Now instead of Groups, these are referred to as courses. You can visit “My Courses” to see all of the courses you have attended (and future ones will show up here too!).

Course recordings

When you visit a course page there is a link to view Course Materials.  Any and all recordings that were made for your class will be available right there.  Just select a link to start viewing the recording.

Course materials (modules, reference guides, code, etc.)

Just under the list of course recordings is a list of available course documents. It will include PDFs, code files, reference images, etc.  Any time a file is updated to include new information you will automatically have access to the revised file.  We will also post on this blog about any new additions and/or changes to the files so you know when stuff has been updated.

Topic Based Forums

Previously a forum was available for each course but where is the fun in that?  Now the forums are topic based and open to all alumni.  Forum topics include…

Speaking of Forum Topics…

We are really excited about my.sharepointexperience.com 2.0.  This version is still in beta and we are working out a few kinks. If you have any issues with the site, experience a bug, please post about it in the Beta Forum.

Home Page Goodness

The home page now provides roll-up views of the latest forum posts and assorted blog entries.  Don’t worry, the achievement leaderboard is still there, just look over to the right side.

Streamlined Interface

Here, there and everywhere you will see differences in the user interface.  Some of the more clunky aspects that were in the first version such as the activity stream, comments and link posts have been smoothed out and simplified.

This blog!

We will continue to use this blog to announce latest alumni news, updates and other stuff that we reserve for you fine folks. J

Woot!

We will continue to update this site and work on making it the best alumni resource it can be for you.  Thanks everyone!
